The Wonderfully Wild World of Wacko
Recently I have been introduced to the raucous family revolving around the band, Wacko. I had decided to shoot a local band, The Sleeperz and instantly became friends with them and have been exposed to aspects of Long Beach I was unaware existed before. The Sleeperz, a psych-rock band that has a sound I instantly found a connection to are some of the most honest and welcoming guys I've been around for quite some time. Chaz and Landon are the soul and found a drummer and bassist that shred far beyond their years to carry out their audio soundscape.
The world The Sleeperz introduced me to is a world of hard and fast core doom punks that just love having fun and have a message to share: we are fed up with the corrupt system and we are creating a space to air out our angst. Though the music can come across a bit aggressive, the band members and their following are quite possibly the nicest crew of humans I have ever been around. It's an amalgamation of each subset of culture featuring the coolest and most progressive individuals around. I am lucky to have bumped into this scene and am fortunate enough to consider these humans my friends.
